Heartwarming Journeys: Janni & Monty's Progress

We love sharing the successes we see every day at Hillview Animal Therapies. Our young gelding Janni is learning to be more focused and relaxed when faced with new challenges, making significant strides in his training. And for a touch of domestic brilliance, our lab x dog Monty has mastered more than just retrieving phones & keys – he's now a pro at picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin! These success stories highlight the power of dedicated training and therapeutic support.

Wise Woofs: Choosing the Right Canine Companion

Before welcoming a dog into your life, thorough breed research is essential, even for cross-breeds. Drawing from experience in dog rescue, we've seen too many surrenders due to mismatches between a breed's energy levels and an owner's lifestyle. While all puppies are adorable, some grow into large dogs requiring consistent training for pleasant walks. Others are bred to guard, herd, nip, and bark, and many working or hunting breeds need several hours of exercise daily to prevent boredom, loneliness, and destructive behaviours. If you work full-time, consider organised dog walkers or daycare, as dogs are pack animals who thrive on company.

Exploring the World of Animal Therapies

At Hillview Animal Therapies, we are passionate about exploring new treatments and sharing our knowledge. Our blog will feature insights into various therapies, how they benefit animals and humans alike, and the positive impact animals have on our lives. We aim to be both friendly and informative, offering practical advice and interesting stories that celebrate the unique bond between humans and animals.

Hi, my name is Letisha. I have known Sabine since I can remember. When I was young I was very scared of dogs, horses, alpacas, even chickens. Through regular visits to the farm I have slowly grown in confidence. On the farm I have done heaps of things, feeding the alpacas, chickens & horses and playing with the dogs in their agility space. What I really love about Hillview Animal Therapies is that I can take things slowly with anything and finish more confident every time.
